Baba's commitment and philosophy

As far as Narayan Baba's commitment and philosophy are concerned, he is sure that he will worship and devotedly relish the Lord in the form of Shri Radha Krishna and meditate on His / Her Lotus Feet without cessation.

Secondarily, Baba seeks to follow in the footsteps of the previous Acharyas (Gurus or Teachers) in the ancient tradition of the Nimbarka Vaishnava Sampradaya, to revive their ancient tradition and to uphold the principles of the Sanatana Dharma through pure devotion.

Baba was initiated into this tradition by Acharya Shri Keshav Sharan Dev Ji in 1997, whereupon he felt extremely blessed. Accordingly, he is committed to the Order of Shri Nimbarkacharya, to which Gurudev Ji belonged.

After being blessed by Shri Krishna by His Prem Shakti (Divine Love), he, regarding the philosophical aspects, which target the ultimate truth, is definitely convinced, that both aspects are of significance, the dual and non-dual aspect of God ('Dvaita-Advaita'). Although in certain scriptures of the Vedas the goal of realization is 'Advaita', and in others 'Dvaita'.
Baba considers neither both to be right nor wrong, as proclaimed by Nimbarka Maha Muni since his advent in this world and even before him.

Baba suggests using the transcendental scriptures of Shrimad Bhagavatam and Shrimad Bhagavat Gita as they represent the ultimate truth in book form and elucidate the aspects of duality (Dvaita) and non-duality (Advaita). Regarding God realization, they would, by devotional reading, present things as they really are, thereby revealing the absolute truth. Bhakti Yoga (rousing of devotion) helps to establish a relationship with God, to seek His closeness and to realize Him/Her as He/She is.

Nimbarka Acharya

Shri Nimbarka Muni (3000 BC), the initiator of the Hindu Bhakti tradition, has set an example through the worship of the Divine in the form of Shri Radhakrishna, emphasizing the path of devotion through singing and prayer. Foreseeing the increasing difficulty due to quarreling in the age of Kali Yuga, and because being aware of the importance of devotion to the Divine, he made clear that henceforth the only means of overcoming the misery of worldly existence is the praying and congregational chanting (Kirtan) and the praising and glorifying of God, which would ultimately lead to inner peace and unity with God Shri Radhakrishna.

Nimbarka Vaisnava Sampradaya

The Nimbarka Order is the most original of all Orders of the Bhakti Sampradaya's, and its teachings have been passed on orally according to tradition, generation after generation.

In order to follow the path of Bhakti, which differs little in all Sampradayas, a seeker should develop devotion. It's good to have qualities like modesty and simplicity, and it helps when we're ready to give up certain things.

A seeker should by nature have a sense for truthfulness. In our tradition, especially in the Bhakti cult, one should live a pure (sattvic) way of life, avoid consumption of non-vegetarian food and avoid violence against others (Ahimsa), especially against other species of life too. We renounce the consumption of intoxicants and smoking, which can cause carelessness and addiction, which in turn can produce imbalance and restlessness.

Regarding our Sampradayas principles, Bhagavat Sewa (worship of God Shri Radhakrishna), Guru and Santa Sewa (service to the teacher and advanced practitioner), Gau Sewa (service to the cow), and Grantha Sewa (reading and applying the Vedic scriptures) should be realized.

To increase our love towards God we use the Yugal Naam Mahamantra, either by chanting or by internal repeating and moving the Mala (rosary) and its beads. The Mantra creates a link to the Divine Source.

In addition to the principles just mentioned under 'Nimbarka Vaisnava Sampradaya', there is another principle, namely the one of Parampara - Disciplic Succession.
To receive the profound mystical teachings of the Sampradaya, a devotee can be initiated into the precious path as he receives the secret Gopal Mahamantra and is introduced to the deep transcendental teachings. Once initiated, some rules and regulations similar to those of other traditions or religious Orders must be followed.

Baba has established the ashram together with Uddhavasharan, his first disciple. He was initiated by Baba in 2000.

Beside Baba, Uddhava is to be considered the co-founder of the ‘Narayan Baba Ashram, which name is also 'Baba Vrindavan Nikunja Dham'.

Conclusion about Realization of God

Baba explains that as a human being we cannot realize God, as long as God doesn't make us approachable, supposing we have the right character to do so. Still, even a realized soul, after having got the ‘Ultimate Divine Blessings’ cannot understand God, but can just ‘feel’ Him/Her - the experience remains beyond explanation.

This is Baba’s self-experience ‘Anuvooti’. One can be a learned person, describing scriptures from any angle, but if not being a realized soul, he cannot explain about God in a real sense, from a deep self-experienced level. Baba says, “it can happen only, if Shri Radhakrishna or God makes a soul realize from heart”.
